Yellow Fever in Colombia: What You Need to Know
Travelers heading to Tayrona National Park, one of the mandatory yellow fever compliance regions, are required to show proof of yellow fever vaccination before entering.
Updated Travel Health Information
As of May 2025, Colombia’s Ministry of Health has updated its recommendations around yellow fever vaccination for travelers visiting certain regions of the country. If your guests are heading into natural parks, remote areas, or protected ecosystems, here’s what you—and they—should know.
Who Should Get Vaccinated?
Travelers visiting areas classified as High or Very High Risk—including several national parks and jungle regions—must show proof of yellow fever vaccination. The vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before entering these areas.
This applies to:
Guests visiting remote or forested areas.
Travelers entering national parks or nature reserves, such as Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta National Park, Tayrona National Park, or various sites in the Amazon reserves.
Guides, staff, and drivers accompanying tours in at-risk regions.
